Protecting the Community - Mt Tamborine Taskforce August 2007

The Brigade formed part of an Ipswich Taskforce sent to the Mt Tamborine / Cunnungra fire on the 12th August. Danny, Michael and Josh went in RV Unit 52 with George and Jason heading off in RV41. Also in the Taskforce were crews from Marburg and Mt Forbes. The fire had been burning between Cunnugra and Mt Tamborine for a few days and the mission was supposed to be one of mopping up and patrolling. Supposed to be!

Moving smoldering logs away from the edge was part of the task, hanging onto them so that you don't fall down Mt Tamborine was another.

Happy snap at lunchtime. Thanks to the SES Crew for their great tucker!

It wasn't all blacking out with several break-outs to contend with.

It wasn't me!

At the end of the day, Michael using the Force and Danny ready for home.
