The steps involved in joining the brigade are as follows:

Come along to one of our monthly meetings at the Station at 776 Ripley Road, Ripley. They are held every month at 7.30PM on the third Tuesday of each month. Some information will be made available and an application form can be submitted then. There are a few checks done by the Rural Fire Service and subject to these; applicants are generally invited back the following month to be welcomed to the Brigade as a new member. The Brigade and the Rural Fire Service welcomes all interested members of the community who wish to be part of the team to apply and there are many different roles available.

If you would like to meet the team and see some of the things we do; you are welcome to come along to observe at any Brigade training session which are held on the first Thursday night at 7.00PM or the first Sunday at 12.00PM of each month. Please come with enclosed footwear, jeans and shirt.

Career Paths and Training:

Structured training packages and career paths are available for members to improve their skills and if desired; work their way up through Firefighter, Senior Firefighter, Crew Leader, Brigade Officer and ultimately First Officer of the Brigade. Beyond that there are broader roles such as Group Officer and the like.
