International Firefighters Day - 2006

International Firefighters Day is the 4th May of each year and this year the Ripley Valley Rural Fire Brigade chose to organise a community awareness and commemoration day for the event which was held on Sunday 7th May. Dignitaries attended from Federal, State and Local government as well as other service officials, members of the community, rural fire brigade members and their families. The day's proceedings covered a brief service for International Firefighters Day, the blessing of two new vehicles for Ripley Valley RFB and also a surprise dedication of one of the new vehicles to the brigade's founding members and driving force behind the brigade; 1st Officer, John Bowles.

As family and dignitaries gather, they inspect our new RV52 and RV21.

     Dedication of the brigade's new Dual Cab mobile command appliance (RV21) to 1st Officer, John Bowles.

     

Fire appliances of all shapes and sizes and applications reflected the changing times for the Rural Fire Service.
