Protecting the Community - Willowbank October 2009
The Brigade was responded to a large grassfire at Cunningham Highway, Willowbank to support Mt Forbes RFB. At approx 3.30pm a towed trailer lost a wheel and the resulting sparks from the axle on the roadway caused a grass fire which quickly raced up the hill towards nearby houses. A number of urban and rural appliances from the Ipswich area responded to the incident and the fire was quickly brought under control.
