Washpool Road, Helping Flinders Peak RFB- October 2006

Just as the dust (and smoke) was settling from the Ward Road fire, the brigade was asked to help Flinders Peak RFB again with another 'high country' bush fire near Washpool Road. On the first day, all Ripley Valley Units responded and then on the second day, RV51 & RV52 were despatched.

Once again the terrain at the fire front was generally inaccessible and so considerable back burning was required. It was a beautiful part of the region, and yes, especially for billy goats.
