Protecting the Community - Ward Road, South Ripley Fire - October 2006
Just as the brigade was in the middle of it's monthly training on Sunday afternoon, 15th October, a call came out about a bush fire in in the mountains to the south. Flinders Peak RFB were on scene and so in response, Ripley Valley 51, 41 and 21 responded.
The terrain at the fire front was generally inaccessible and so considerable back burning was required. It was a beautiful part of the region, especially for billy goats.
