Protecting the Community - Mulgowie Strike Team (October 2004)

In October 2004, the Brigade was responded to multiple strike teams around the south east region. One was sent to Helidon and the other to Mulgowie near Laidley. This is the story of the Mulgowie Team.

The view that greated the Ipswich Strike Team approaching the town of Mulgowie, south of Laidley was quite ominous.

Danny H, Josh M and George G crewed up RV6 (RV41) and were thrown into property protection straight away as a very large grass fire impacted dozens of homes.

The fight went well into the night.

A strike team from another region arrived around midnight to releive some very tirefirefighters, but proud in the knowledge that all houses were saved in the area.

Crews at other fires that night weren't as lucky with several houses lost near Crows Nest.
