Protecting the Community - Swifts Football Club, Purga - July 2011

This exercise held on Sunday 3rd July was a training day burn and gave several members the opportunity to step up to accept more formal training. It consisted of a small area of lightly wooded grassland that was burnt out in two stages.

It was Gary Chapman's (R) first experience as an incident controller and Jim Runham coached him through it.

Amy Hartness had a go as Crew Leader of RV41 and was ably assisted by Tracey Oliverie. Patches of the grass that were well cured went up well. Some didn't.

Dave, Ian and Tony managed Alpha Sector in RV52.

John (L) , Clayton, Squirt and Dan manned RV81 with slip-on.

Welcome to the brigade Dan.

The ladies were happy with the end of the day.
