This
exercise was actually a series of hazard reduction burns for a local
resident in the Swanbank area. The first in May was a case of 'the night
of the long log pile burn'. The second burn was carried out over a Sunday
training day in early June. Finally a broad acre burn in August to burn

All
Ripley Valley RFB appliances were utilised and Pine Mountain RFB sent
over their PM51 as well to lend a helping hand. As per usual, full briefings
occured with Jim Runham runnning incident control for the day.

A
liitle bit of prepration work was required in places such as a wash-out
that would test even the Leyland Brothers.

considerable fuel was present.
