Protecting the Community - Redbank Plains July 2011

In the evening of July 6th, the Brigade was activated to more fires in bushland at Redbank Plains adjacent to Collingwood Park to assist 643A (Bundamba) and 646A (Camira). This fire was actually a series of fires with suspicious origins in the area over many days.

Ripley Valley RFB crews were asked to monitor the fire in a few areas where 4WD access was required.

It wasn't long before crews realised that they really needed a boat.

Area made safe after a long night. A big thank you to the crews. The rest of the photos will be used for this year's "Not Awards", but that's another story.
