Protecting the Community - Redbank Fire May 2010

On a cool but sunny day in May; the Brigade responded to a grass fire in the Redbank area. The timing of this particular fire was unusual as we normally don't start to get grass fires until July after our first real frosts but 2010 is looking like being a special year. We had our first small frost through the week and the grass has already started to die off in places. So much for a few months off.

As far as the Redbank fire story goes; Ripley Valley RFB responded RV52 and RV41 due to the remote nature of the fire.

The fire has got to be around here somewhere?

Getting RV41 ready.

When they did find it, it would not have rated as a 'big' fire but Matt was happy it was going to be a civil knock off time.

Steve and John tidying up.
