A Part of the Community - A Thanks to our Sponsors and Supporters

The brigade operates partially from funds derived from the Fire Levies paid by local rate payers but also there is a gap of several thousand dollars each year. Members carry out fund raising and the brigade is supported by a number of individuals and organisations. On this page, we would like to show our appreciation to those that support us.

Sponsorship and Funding

The Brigade sent crews to help out in the aftermath of the floods in Ipswich over many days in January 2011. One of the key requirements during that work was the need for 'sunsmart' clothing. After consultation with BOC Limited, a batch of sun smart, high visibility work shirts has been donated. Here is what BOC Limited had to say:

BOC acknowledges that the community involvement and support that the Ripley Valley Rural Fire Brigade has provided in assisting with the massive clean up effort from the devastating Qld Floods earlier this year is an amazing example of people coming together to help others in a time of need. When we got the letter from George Ganzenmuller asking if we could kindly contribute new shirts for the Fire Brigade members, it was a very easy decision to make. BOC is proud to make this contribution in addition to the previous donations to the Qld Premiers Flood Appeal which now exceed $450 000. Thankyou and congratulations to all members of the Ripley Valley Rural Fire Brigade for volunteering your time to help keep your community safe and clean. - Paul Garrett, Safety Specialist - Brisbane, BOC Ltd.

The Brigade would like to express it's gratitude to BOC Limited for their generous support of the Brigade.

Drinking Water

Brothers Leagues Club has supported the Brigade many times in the past. Recently they donated two pallets of bottled drinking water to Ripley Valley RFB and other Brigades in the Ipswich Group.

Energex has been a great supporter of the Rural Fire Service over many years. Recently, the Brigade was one of many Rural Brigades in the region to be the beneficiary of some donated equipment from Energex. Amy and Matt represented the Brigade at a hand over ceremony at the RNA Showgrounds.

The Brigade recently applied for and was successful in gaining a grant from Powerlink to build an incident command office area as well as finishing off our kitchen area. We would like to thank Powerlink for their kind gesture.

The Brigade has also recently been supported through Interlink Training Services who provided Chainsaw training for some of our members. To access more information on their services; please check out http://www.interlinktraining.com.au/

Goodna RSL Services Club Inc

The Goodna Returned Services League Club has been a regular supporter of the brigade in many areas over many years.

The brigade would like to acknowledge the financial support received from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. Specialised training equipment such as a lap top computer and data projector were purchased through this government initiative and will make training more effective and efficient.
