A Part of the Community - Bushfire Prepared Community Days

The Brigade is involved with numerous Bushfire Prepared Community presentations as part of broader QFRS engagement with those communities identified as being in the Urban / Rural Interface Zones or I-Zone areas.

For example; Ripley Valley RFB attended a Prepare Act Survive Session at Springfield Lakes with 646A.

Another presentation took place for the residents of Bellbird Park. Senior QFRS (Bruce McCoist) and RFS (Craig Smith, Rob Walker, Peta Miller) staff attended as well as crews from Camira (646A), Ipswich (645M) and Ripley Valley RFB (Units 52 & 81). The presentation was conducted by Brad Jeffs (I-zone Officer Ipswich). After the presentation our presence allowed us to talk to residents about fires that we have attended since 1995 using historical fire maps and to discuss with them about their properties and what effect the recent growth could have later this year.
